Come to the land of magic – Agra and see the beautiful love monument Taj Mahal which certainly is one of the 7 Wonders of India. With its incredible glory and its stupendous beauty, the structure is certainly a feast for the traveller’s eye and a visit to India without seeing this structure is something that shouldn’t happen. This beautiful monument created by Shah Jahan the Mughal Emperor for his wife is a token his love and today stands tall on the banks of the River Yamuna. Located in the state of Uttar Pradesh this place Agra is around 200 km from the capital of India, Delhi. You could also visit the Fatehpur Sikri and the Agra Fort here and get locked in the beauty and grandeur of Taj Mahal.

The next in the 7 wonders of India is the beautifully built Golden Temple in the city of Amritsar in India. With the best of sacred vibration, this is a place which any tourist wouldn’t mind visiting again and again. It is open to all and the entire experience here is very humbling. You would get completely captivated by the surroundings and the tranquility and serenity here is what captures the heart, mind and soul. The feeling is magical and anyone would get spiritual here. Resounding with calm thoughts, the Har Mandir or the divine temple as it is also known as is the most sacred place in this part of the world. Some devotees also refer to it as the Durbar Sahib. The entire building shines with the gold that it has been plated with and the copper cupolas with the walls of marble add to the sheer sheen and splendour. Enjoy the cool feel of the sacred pool known as the Amrit Sarovar and also see how the chauri is a waved over the Holy Book of the Sikhs. Then go the Tawang monastery in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India. One of the 7 wonders of India, this is a discovery of the Merak Lama Ladre Gyatso in the 16th century. Belonging to the school of Gelugpa, this is connected to the Drepung Monastery in Lhasa. Standing at a height of 10,000 feet, the view is exotic from here and you could visit the library here which is the place of Kangyur scriptures collected over 4 centuries. The biggest monastery of the Buddhists, it has a printing press and a beautifully crafted statue of Buddha golden in color and around 27 feet in height.

Visiting India without visiting the desert king Rajasthan is incomplete. Visit the fort of Jaisalmer in the state of Rajasthan and enjoy the magnificence of this place. Built by the Bhati Rajput ruler Rawal Jaisal in the 11th century this is a place which lies in the land of the Thar desert. Built of solid stone and absolute magnificent construction patterns this is a fort which shouldn’t be missed in the Indian itinerary. There is a great maze of layers here which is the beauty of the place. This fort was the one which was responsible for defending the city of Rajasthan. Soldiers used to throw huge rocks on the enemy from the top of this fort. Also known as the Golden fort because of its yellow stone this fort on the Trikuta Hill is witness to many battles fought in the region. Visit the Raj Mahal, and the Laxminath temple here and experience the history of the past.

Konark Sun temple is again one of the 7 wonders of India. This temple is in the state of Orissa and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Narasimhadeva I constructed this temple sometime in the 13th century. The temple is built like a chariot of the sun God and has seven spirited horses pulling it. The 12 wheels in the chariot represent the 12 months of the year. The temple belongs to the Kalinga School of Indian temples. Built of black granite, this temple is a great example of the Indian architectural splendour. A very popular tourist hub, this temple is today a major wonder of India.

Madurai in South India is a great place and has one of the 7 wonders of India – The Madurai Meenakshi temple. Come to this land and see the beauty of constructional elegance and graceful sculptures.

Then you have the University of Alana which is situated in Bihar which is also one of the 7 wonders of India. A great Buddhist centre of learning this place has been founded by the Gupta dynasty.
