Kaziranga National Park :
Situated in the Golaghat and the Nagaon districts of Assam is the Kaziranga National Park which is considered as an World Heritage site , specially for the one horned rhinos which are majorly found in these park. Declared as a tiger reserve in the year 2006, it is known to have the highest density of tigers. Other than this it also provides homage to many other species like elephants, swamp deer, wildlife buffalo and multiple kinds of birds. . A large number of migratory birds are seen to flow here every year. It is considered as a major destination for wildlife conservation. Established in 1905, the park recently celebrated its centennial. Stretching over an area of 403sqkm it is one f the oldest park of North east India. The landscape of Kaziranga has rugged reeds, marshes, tall elephant grass and shallow pools. It was declared as a national park in the year 1974.
Climate in Kaziranga National Park:
Three seasons usually dominate the climate at Kaziranga National Park. The summer season stretches from February to May with the atmosphere much dry and the temperature staying around 37C at a maximum. The monsoon season is usually humid with stays till the end of the month September. The average rainfall recorded in this season is around 222mm. winters stretch from November to February with the ambience being hugely dry with the temperature falling to a minimum of 5C. November to April is considered as the best time to visit the park.

Kaziranga National Park By Air :
The nearest airport to Kaziranga National Park is Tejpur which is situated at a distance of 60km from the park. There are private taxis to travel from airport to the park. But only selected flights travel to Tejpur. Guwahati airport also stands nearby at a distance of 217km from the park and it also facilitates flights from several parts of the country. There are again cab facilities to travel from Guwahati to the Kaziranga national park at reasonable rates.
Kaziranga National Park By Rail :
The nearest railway station is Guwahati with trains from multiple places across the country. It is an inexpensive mode of journey with good transportation options from Guwahati to the national park.

Government buses are well available at much cheaper rates to travel from Tejpur and Guwahati to the National park area. The rides are much comfortable too.
